Author Guidelines
Scope and Focus: Journal of Local Language and Culture (JLLC) is dedicated to advancing the field of Indonesian language education and applied linguistics.
Originality and Plagiarism: Manuscripts must be original and not under consideration by any other publication. Authors should ensure that their work is free from plagiarism and properly cite all sources and references.
Languages:
English: Authors are welcome to submit their manuscripts in English.
Bahasa Indonesia: Authors may also submit their manuscripts in Bahasa Indonesia. For articles written in Bahasa Indonesia, the journal offers a complimentary translation service. The editorial team will translate the manuscript into English at no charge to the author.
Please note:
- Articles translated by our editorial team will undergo the same rigorous review process as those originally submitted in English.
- The translated article will be published in English, ensuring greater accessibility to the global academic community.
Manuscript Preparation:
Format | : Manuscripts should be submitted in Microsoft Word format. |
Font and Spacing | : Times New Roman, 12-point font, double-spaced. |
Margins | : 1-inch margins on all sides. |
Length | : Articles should be up to 7,500 words, including references, tables, and figures. |
Tables and Figures | : Authors should number tables and figures consecutively and provide descriptive captions. |
Each table and figure should be referred to in the text and placed near where it is discussed. |
While there is no rigid article template, authors are encouraged to organize their manuscripts with the following sections:
Title Page: Include the title, author names, affiliations, and contact information for the corresponding author.
Keywords: 4-6 keywords that reflect the main topics of the article.
Abstract: It should provide a concise summary of the study, not exceeding 300 words, covering the purpose, methodology, results, and implications.
Introduction: The author should provide the necessary background information and context for the study, clearly stating the research problem and its significance. Authors should outline the study's objectives and any research questions or hypotheses. A brief overview of the study's structure and significance should also be included to guide readers through the research.
Methodology: It should describe the research design and methods used, allowing for replication and assessment of validity. Authors should explain the overall approach and type of study, whether qualitative, quantitative, or mixed-methods. This section should detail the study population, sample size, and selection criteria. Additionally, authors should outline the tools and techniques used for data collection, such as surveys, interviews, or experiments, and explain the methods used to analyze the data, including any software or statistical tools employed.
Results: The results section should present the study's findings clearly and logically, summarizing the data and key results without interpretation. Authors should use tables, figures, and charts as needed to illustrate findings, ensuring that all results relate to the research questions or hypotheses.
Discussion: In the discussion section, authors should interpret and explore the implications of the results. This includes analyzing how the findings relate to the research questions and existing literature and discussing any unexpected results and their possible explanations. Authors should address the study's limitations and suggest areas for future research, considering both practical and theoretical implications.
Conclusion: The author should provide a concise summary of the main findings and their relevance. Authors should highlight the study's contributions to the field and offer recommendations based on the findings.
Acknowledgement: It is a place where authors express gratitude and recognize the contributions of individuals, organizations, or institutions that have supported the research but are not listed as co-authors. This section can vary in length and detail depending on the extent of contributions and the preferences of the authors.
References: Authors must provide a comprehensive list of all sources cited in the manuscript using APA (7th edition) style. All references should be complete and accurate.
